Digital Lipoma of big toe in child :A rare case report

Abstract

  • A lipoma is a common adipose benign soft tissue tumor. It may arise beneath the skin and may grow anywhere in body most commonly involving the upper trunk (chest, arm, shoulder, neck and upper thigh).They grow slowly and non-cancerous. Lipoma in the foot exists but the occurrence of the Lipoma in this location is very rare .To our knowledge lipoma of the toe in a child is a very rare case. This case study concern an unusually large lipoma in a child on the plantar aspect of the first big toe , its radiological imaging finding on ultrasound and histopathology .1-2
